European national associations of ACI - The Financial Markets Association, through several working groups, were at the foundation of the Euribor and the Eonia.
As further detailed in Article 7 of the Euribor® Code of Conduct, the Steering Committee consists of 10 members. The Secretary General of the European Banking Federation (EBF) is a permanent member of the Steering Committee while the other members have a mandate of 2 years (renewable).
All the members of the Steering Committee must be independent and not subject to instructions from the companies or organisations to which they belong.

The Steering Committee usually meets twice a year in Brussels. Yet, ad hoc meetings can be organised whenever necessary.
The Steering Committee oversees the compliance with the Code of Conduct and monitors market developments.
Further information on the role of the Steering Committee can be found in Article 8 of the Euribor® Code of Conduct.
Members of the Steering Committee can only attend the meetings in personam and therefore cannot send any representative.
At the occasion of progress reveiwing of the 51st ACI Congress in Dubai, Mohammed Al Hashemi, President UAE FMA and M. Wiebogen, President ACI International met Abdullah Mohammed Saleh, Governor DIFC Gov. of Dubai and Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, CEO DIFC Authority Gov. of Dubai seeking for points of cooperation.
